 Karen Sue Grimes, 66, of Lafayette, died at St. Elizabeth East Hospital 2:48 PM Tuesday May 22, 2012.
Karen was born in Lafayette September 1, 1945, the daughter of Mary Francis Calhoon Wray and the late Delbert Wray. She attended Delphi, IN High School, and had been a bus driver for the Lafayette School Corporation, transporting special needs students, and had also worked at Meijers as a clerk.
She was married to Richard D. Grimes and he preceded her in death in 2010.
Surviving are 2 sons, Kenneth L. Grimes (wife Amanda) of Camden, IN.; Timothy W. Grimes (fiance Stephanie Weatherford) of Lafayette; her mother, Mary F. Wray of Delphi, IN.; 3 sisters, Roxanna Stoner (husband Jerry) of Wabash, IN.; Robin Gustafson (husband Clarence) of Lafayette, IN.; Jacquelyn Maxson (husband Jim) of Monticello, IN.; and 1 brother, Jack Wray of Delphi, IN. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell W. Grimes. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
