Dennis Miller - Class Of 1965

Dennis L. "Denny" Miller, 60, of Delphi, passed away Sept. 28, 2007, at 8 p.m. at his home. He had been battling cancer for the past month and a half.

He was born March 27, 1947, in Lafayette, to Wilburn H.L. Miller and the late Helen George Miller. His marriage was to Carole F. Zimmerman in Logansport on Sept. 1, 1979, and she survives.

Mr. Miller was a 1965 graduate of Delphi High School, and attended Manchester College for one year. He worked at Caterpillar in Lafayette since May 1983 in the tool and die department.

He was a member of the Logansport Church of the Brethren, where he was a deacon, sang in the choir, was on the daycare board, and he and his wife were very involved with church youth programs. He belonged to national and state Winnebago travel clubs.

Mr. Miller coached Delphi seventh and eighth-grade football teams, Delphi girls' softball and little league for many years. He enjoyed the Chicago Bears football team and the hobbies of military history, traveling and working on muscle cars.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy Moriarty (husband: Mark) of Aurora, Colo. and Heather L. Miller of Lafayette; a stepson, Jason Moore (wife: Annette) of Elkhart; his father of Delphi; his sister, Donna Curts (husband: Bob) of Delphi; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, Mersai; and his special daughter, Lisa King (husband: Phil).

Jesus Christ was his first love, and he truly loved his family.
