Steven James Hutton, 61, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, in the presence of his family in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.  Steven was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Lafayette, to James C. Hutton and Judy Young Hutton.  Survivors include his wife, Kathleen O'Leary Hutton; daughter, Erin Hutton Stansifer and her husband Sean of Indianapolis; brother, David Hutton and his wife Elaine of Edwardsville, Ill.; sister, Susan Kahler and her husband Richard of Delphi; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Karen Hutton.  Steven was a Certified Public Accountant for Industrial Supply Company.  He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where he was on the finance council and a Eucharistic Minister and was a past member of the Pastoral Council and past member of the Deanery Council.  He was a graduate of Delphi Community High School and was a lifetime Purdue Alumni member, a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, the Institute of CPA's, and the Indiana Society of CPA's.  Steven served as City Controller from 1996 to 1999. Steven was also an avid golfer and reader.

  Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, with Father Rick Ginther officiating.  Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, Terre Haute, was in charge of arrangements.
