Raymond Smith

Raymond Dean Smith, 68, Logansport, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Woodbridge Healthcare Campus in Logansport.

He was born March 9, 1947, in Logansport, the son of Earl and Roberta Morgason Smith.

He graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1966. Ray served as a medic in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Logansport. He was a member of the Logansport Church of the Brethren. He retired in December 2011 from the Indiana Department of Corrections Boys School in Logansport.

His first marriage was to Sharon Adair, who preceded him in death. He then married Ruth Ann (Buttons) Smith and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Carl (Katrina) Calloway, Tonya (Matt) Collier, Tammy (David) Mathews, Marie (Jason) Winn, Brett (Jennifer) Smith, Louis Calloway, Misty Smith and Troy (Belinda) Smith; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcia Campbell and Ruthie (Jim) Bledsoe; brother, Donnie (Janet) Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

His hobbies were attending all of his grandchildrens' activities, collecting Eagles and Mickey Mouse memorabilia, attending garage sales and giving candy to all of his grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, in Cree Funeral Home. Pastor Aaron Gross will officiate services. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
