J. Clark Bowling

1970BROOKSTON -- Jonathan Clark Bowling, 61, of 8854 S. Springboro Road, died unexpectedly at 2 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, in Delphi.

Born Feb. 6, 1950, in Campbellsville, Ky., he was the son of Goldmon and Bedeva Moss Bowling of Delphi. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1968 and attended Lindsey Wilson Junior College in Columbia, Ky.

Mr. Bowling was a welder and worked for many construction companies and job sites in the area.

He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a member of ABATE and helped at training sessions for motorcycle safety. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid woodsman, who enjoyed the Tippecanoe River, where he grew up.

Surviving with his parents are a daughter, Elizabeth Alwood Moody (husband: Sherman) of Johnson City, Tenn.; a son, Andrew McKinly Bowling of Brookston; and a brother, Daniel Barry Bowling of Battle Ground.

Preceded in death by a brother, Wayne.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until his funeral at 1 p.m. Friday, at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, Pastor Micah Hudson officiating. Burial at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi, with Delphi and Camden American Legion and Delphi VFW military rites.
