Dave Gipson

David "Pinky" Gipson Sr. passed away on Oct. 31, 2014 at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis. David was born to the late Finis L. and Arline (Stevens) Gipson on Oct. 9, 1950 in Lafayette, IN. David was a 1968 graduate of Delphi Community High School. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War from 1968-1971.

David married Deborah Elston on Aug. 21, 1971 in Pittsburg, IN and she survives.

Mr. Gipson retired from Alcoa in Lafayette where he was employed as a Die Corrector.

He was a member of the Pittsburg Community Church and American Legion Post #75.

David enjoyed fishing, watching professional wrestling. He loved cookouts and grilling with family and friends; precious times which are cherished.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: David L. Gipson Jr (wife: Cathy) of Crawfordsville and Emily May Gipson (companion: Dan Norfleet) of Delphi; siblings: Bruce A. Gipson, Perry W. Gipson, Bradley A. Gipson of Delphi, Stephen L. Gipson of Alabama, and Anita M. Lothridge of Lafayette; Grandchildren: Carrie, Brett and Dusty and Great Grandchildren: Abby and Elijah.

He was preceded by his sisters Christina Greenwood and Terry Flood.

Visitation will be at the Pittsburg Community Church in Pittsburg on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Wed., Nov. 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with John Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg. Military Graveside Rites by the Carroll County Honor Guard.
