Linda L. Winger, 75, of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  She was born on December 7, 1950, in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late James and Elizabeth (Bossung) Kremer. Linda graduated from the Purdue University School of Nursing.  She married Richard L. Winger on May 1, 1993, in Stockwell, Indiana. He preceded her in death November 23, 2011.  Linda worked as a registered nurse at ALCOA, with Dr. Froberg, and as a school nurse at Hershey Elementary School and East Tipp Middle School.

She was an avid participant in Threads of Time creative sewing and retreat center.  Linda loved attending and participating in car shows and expressing appreciation to any veteran she would meet. Survivors include her sons, James E. (Amy) Maxwell of Troy, Illinois, Jason E. Maxwell of Columbus, Indiana, and Jeremiah E. (Cecille) Maxwell of San Francisco, California; stepson Dustin (Gretchen) Winger of Clarks Hill, Indiana; six grandchildren; one brother; and four sisters and many close friends that have become her family.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 12, 2026, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Stockwell Community Church. Burial will be at Clarks Hill Cemetery.
