Deceased May 14, 2007 at the age of 56.  She lived in Delphi.  She was survived by her Mom & 4 brothers & 3 sisters & plenty of nieces & nephews

She was dearly loved by all who knew her including everyone at Methodist Childrens Home where she devoted 22 years of life, love, & lots of caring & loads of Hope to all she came in to contact on a daily basis.
 

 

  Leta L. Lewis, 55, of Delphi, passed away May 14, 2007, at 10:44 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.  She had been a patient there for one day and had battled cancer since October.
  She was born July 2, 1951, in Lafayette, to Van and Ethel Sneathren Lewis.
  Ms. Lewis was a 1969 graduate of Delphi Community High School.  She was a member of Delphi Pentecostal Church.
  She worked at Indiana United Methodist Children's Home in Lebanon for 23 years as a house mother for resident care and later as an administrator.
  She enjoyed flower gardening, yard work, sewing, various card and board games and Christmas.
  Surviving are her mother of Delphi; three sisters, Reta Pattengale, Aneta Gardiner (Husband: Randee) and Geraldine Conde, all of Delphi; four brothers, Adren Lewis of Springer, Okla. Dennis Lewis (wife: Martha) of Delphi, Milton Lewis (wife: Kellye) of Lafayette and Perry Lewis (wife: Chog) of Sharpsburg, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
  Her father preceded her in death.
  Private family services are planned.  Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 747, Lebanon, IN 46052.
  Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi was in charge of arrangements.

Constance Riley (Rodenbarger) (1969)

Leta was always caring and friendly to all. She was a blessing to the children at the Methodist home, and God will greatly reward her for being there, as it is written. Rest in peace, Leta, until we all meet again.
