Edward “Eddie” Joe Stankard, 66, of Reno, Nevada, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2018.

He was born on April 24, 1951 in Lafayette, IN to Mary F. (Gramkow) Stankard and the late William J. Stankard. He graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1969. After high school he graduated from Columbia School of Broadcasting in Milwaukee, WI and he also attended classes at Ivy Tech in Lafayette, IN. He was the Sports Director for radio stations in Monticello and Rochester, Indiana. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force serving for 3 years. After he completed his term of service, he worked at Alcoa in Lafayette, IN and then moved to California where he retired from General Chemical Corp.

Eddie was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Purdue Boilermaker fan. His favorite sport was Major League Baseball and his favorite team was the Oakland A’s. Eddie was an avid golfer.

Eddie loved his family and is survived by his mother Mary F. Stankard of Delphi, IN, companion Linda Buffington of Reno, NV, daughter Emerald Keehan (Sean) of South San Francisco, CA and brother Dan Stankard (Pat) of Delphi, IN. He also leaves behind three special nephews Scott Stankard (Piper), Jeff Stankard (Libby) and Eric Stankard (Erica). He was preceded in death by his father.

The family will welcome visitors to a Celebration of Life that will be held on Saturday, Januar y 13, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Delphi, IN.
