Shirley Jean (Fesler) Foster, 90, of Seattle, Washington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Virginia Mason Medical Center. She was surrounded by family and loved ones.

Shirley was born May 11, 1933, in Rockfield, Indiana, to the late John Newton and Juanita Ellen (Brown) Fesler. She married Robert L. Foster in Delphi, Indiana in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1971.

Shirley was a graduate of Delphi Community High School in Delphi. She worked at Bryan’s in Monticello, Indiana before moving to Seattle, Washington, where she worked for Boeing from September 1979 until her retirement in June 1995.

Shirley is survived by five children, Brenda (Rex) Wortman of Delphi, John “Mark” (Debra) Foster of Indianapolis, Steven (Jacquelyn) Foster of Kent, Washington, Joyce (Jeffrey) Harter of Camden, and Vickie Horschel of Seattle, Washington; foster son Tom Walters of Seattle, brother John Fesler of Brookston, and sister Sheila (Stan) West of Muncie. Also, grandchildren, great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter Marcia Foster and siblings Dana “Junior” Beaver, Karen Fearnow, Meredith “Bonnie” Parkin and Carol Davis.

Services and a Celebration of Life are planned at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, at the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren in Camden, Indiana.
