Arthur L. “Art” Lane, 86, of Delphi, died Mon-April 23, 2018 at 4:15am at the IN Veteran’s Home, West Lafayette. He was born May 15, 1931 in Buck Creek, to the late Wilbur & Clova Ottinger Lane. His marriage was to Ida Faye Shockley in Delphi, on May 23, 1954, and she survives. He was a 1951 graduate of Delphi High School. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran. He worked for many years at the former DA Garrison Trucking in Delphi as a mechanic, and delivered for Delphi Products for many years too. He was a member of the Delphi American Legion #75, Delphi VFW #9383, and the Forty & Eight Chateau of Lafayette. He enjoyed camping & fishing, and Indiana University sports. He dearly loved his family, and the gatherings they had together. Surviving: wife-Ida F. Lane of Delphi; daughters-Phyllis & Jack McCarty of Bringhurst, Pamela & James Land of Elnora, Peggy & Pearl Speakman of Lafayette; sister-Maxine Brewer of Monticello; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; preceded in death by a sister and 3 brother’s. Services: Friends may call Thursday from 11am until his funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. James Land officiating. Burial at Camden Cemetery, with Carroll County Honor Guard military rites.
