Paul O'Farrell

Paul Thomas O'Farrell, 81, rural Delphi, passed away at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1933, in Carroll County, to the late Thomas and Clada Mae (Medley) O'Farrell. On Nov. 24, 1956, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi, he married Carol J. Lane; she survives.
Paul had been in failing health for the last several months.
He was a 1951 graduate of Delphi High School and had lived on his rural Carroll County farm all his life.
Paul served in the Indiana National Guard from 1951 - 1960.
He was very active with the Carroll County 4–H program. Paul had served as the president of the 4-H Exhibit Association.
He had raised Hampshire hogs all his life, showed them nationwide, and was known nationally.
Paul was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Delphi.
He was loved by all his family, and he loved them all in return.
Surviving are wife, Carol O'Farrell, Delphi; daughter, Rita (Don) Paul, Delphi; grandchildren, Airial (Greg) Roland, Bedford, Darren (fiancée Erica Heideman) Paul, West Lafayette, Ashley (finance Cahleb Conrad) Paul and Dustin Paul, both of Delphi; great-grandchildren, Nola and Kora Roland and Thomas Paul–Conrad; siblings, Deloris (Joe) Hildebrandt, Delphi and Charles O'Farrell, Lafayette; sister-in-law, Maxine Brewer, Monticello; brother-in-law, Arthur "Art" ( Ida) Lane, Delphi; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Clada Mae (Medley) O'Farrell; son, Mark O'Farrell; sister, Zelda Burke; brother, Pat O'Farrell; and brothers-in-law, Leroy, Wilbur, and Robert "Bob" Lane.
Visitation will be from 2 – 6 p.m. Monday at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral Mass will be at
10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 207 N. Washington Street, Delphi, with Rev. Robert L. Williams of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Delphi officiating.
Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Delphi.
Memorials may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
