Vera Black (Eikenberry) - Class Of 1930

Final rites for Vera A. Eikenberry, 67, of Flora, will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Reinke Funeral Home in Flora. The Reverend Allen Sager will officiate and burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. She died Tuesday July 10, 1979 at Home Hospital in Lafayette. Her death was sudden. Born in Carroll County, on June 29, 1912, she was the daughter of Charles G. and Lottie Thomas Black. Her marriage in 1933 was to L. Delbert Eikenberry, who died in 1970. She had been an employee of L.S. Ayres in Lafayette and D.E. Cripe in Flora. Deceased was a graduate of Delphi High School and attended Butler University. She was a member of the Flora Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, Jeris of West Lafayette and Cullan of Flora; two brothers, Charles Black of Rt. 4, Delphi and Kenneth Black of Arcadia, Fla., four sisters, Marie Humberd of Winona Lake, Ethel Landes of Rt. 1, Flora, Laura Zinn of Delphi and Olive Todd of Tipton; and four grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 until 5 and 7 until 9 Thursday. Memorials should be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
