Charles Bradshaw - Class Of 1930

Charles R. Bradshaw, 86, of Delphi, died at 12:30 a.m. Nov. 24, 1998, at his residence.  He was a lifelong resident of Delphi.
  Born April 21, 1912, in Delphi, he was the son of William Howard and Flora Gros Bradshaw.
  He was a 1930 graduate of Delphi High School and a 1934 graduate of Wabash College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
  His first marriage was to Mary Jan Crundwell on Aug. 8, 1939, and she died April 12, 1955.  His second marriage was on Sept. 4, 1955, to Elvera Ziering Kane, who died March 12, 1973.  His third marriage was to Helen Walter Barclay on Sept. 9, 1973, and she died Nov. 17, 1974.  He then married Frances Risinger Maschmeyer Brunton on May 13, 1975.  She died May 20, 1998.
  Mr. Bradshaw joined the family business, Delphi Body Works, following graduation from college and became the sole owner in 1940.  After his retirement in 1980, he became chairman of the board and continued to go to the office daily until his death.
  He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity of Wabash College, Carroll County Wabash & Erie Canal, Inc., Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge 48 and IOOF Lodge 28, both of Delphi, and Delphi Chamber of Commerce, where he held various offices.  He received the Chamber of Commerce Samuel Milroy Award in 1987.  Mr. Bradshaw also was a member of the Sports Car Club of America and a charter member of the Rolls Royce Club.
  A member of the Trailblazer Club of Camp Tecuseh, he was a benefactor of both Camp Tecumseh and Wabash College.
  Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Danley of Austin, Texas, Georgiana Southwick of Waukesha, Wis., and Christina Bradshaw-Levin of Cupertino, Calif.; seven sons, Richard Bradshaw of Delphi, Michael Bradshaw of Paris, France, Charles Bradshaw of Indianapolis, James Bradshaw and Frederick Bradshaw, both Atlanta, Ga., Terrence Bradshaw of Indianapolis, and Stephen Bradshaw of Oakland, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and two brothers.
  Services were Monday at Horn Funeral Home with David Wright and members of the Bradshaw family officiating.  Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Delphi.
