Ruby Sines (Shultheis) - Class Of 1930

Ruby Sines Shultheis, 83, of Rt 4, Delphi (Pyrmont), died at 1:40 p.m. Sept. 22, 1995, at Milner Community Health Care Center, Rossville, where she had resided for the past three years. Born Dec. 4, 1911, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Robert Earl and Ocea M. Kirkpatrick Sines. Her marriage was on Dec. 3, 1938, in Montmorenci, to Orville Shultheis, who survives. She was a 1930 graduate of Delphi High School. She and her husband owned and operated the Shultheis Pyrmont Grocery for 41 years, retiring in 1980. Before her marriage, she was a secretary for the former Hammling & Smock law firm in Delphi. She was a member of the Pyrmont United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Clay Harmony Extension Homemakers Club and Carroll County Farm Bureau. Also surviving are one daughter, Joan C. Dunwoody of West Lafayette; a son, Robert M. Shultheis of Rossville; two brothers. Nelson Sines and Ralph Sines, both of Rt. 4, Delphi; four sisters, Freda Goslee, Mildred Waymire, Mary Catherine Kerker and Jane Wray, all of Delphi; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, a sister and a brother. Services were Monday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. B. J. Rieke officiating. Burial was in Pyrmont Cemetery.
