Leona (Peg) Gamble Hanna - Class Of 1931

Leona E. "Peg" Hanna, 75, of Delphi, died at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 9, 1989, at her residence. Born June 28, 1913, in Barre, Vermont, she was the daughter of Robert James and Anna Menard Gamble. Her marriage was Dec. 11 1935, in Delphi to Robert L. Hanna, who died in 1961. She was a 1931 graduate of Delphi High School and a graduate of Rainbow Beauty College in Indianapolis. She worked for the Carroll County Welfare Department from 1971 to 1983, first as a homemaker and then as an assistant caseworker. Previous employment included caseworker for the Labor Division of the State of Indiana and receptionist for Dr. George Wagoner. She was a member of Delphi Christian Church and Delphi Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority. She was active in various bridge circles, including Tri Kappa Bridge a rama in Delphi. Surviving are two sons, John L. Hanna of Pamona, Calif., and Joe Hanna of Kokomo; a sister, Florence Lee of Indianapolis; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were Monday at Horn Funeral Home with Pastor David Futrell officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Delphi.
