Lorene Clawson - Class Of 1931

 R. Lorene Clawson, 93, a resident of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Delphi, and a long-time resident of Carroll County, died at 6:47 p.m. on May 6, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
  Born in Radnor on May 6, 1913, she was the daughter of Ross H. and Ida M. Mitchell Clawson.  She was a 1931 graduate of Delphi High School, where she was class vice president.
  Her marriage was to Robert L. Clawson on Dec. 24, 1931, at the Brewer's residence in Carroll County, and he died April 27, 2000.
  Mrs. Clawson worked for several years as Dr. George Wagner's receptionist and physician's assistant, and later worked as a teller for Union Bank & Trust in Delphi.
  She had been a 4-H leader and a president of the Home Demonstration Club.  She was a member of Delphi Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and vice president of the Women's Association.  She had received her 75-year pin from the church.
  Mrs. Clawson was also a former member of Eastern Star and Tri Kappa since 1946.
  Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Gregory (husband: Merle) of Woodlawn Tenn.; a son, Jerry Clawson (wife: Marcia) of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Larry Gregory (wife: Phyllis) and Gary Gregory, both of Woodlawn, Tenn.;  granddaughter, Stacia Clawson (husband: John Hogan) of Laurens, S.C.; and two stepsisters, Ruth Howell of West Lafayette and Patricia Benjamin of Naples, Fla.
  Services are today at 10 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, with Pastor Louis Sandos officiating.  Burial will be a IOOF Memorial Gardens in Delphi.
