Mary Morrison (Wightman) - Class Of 1931

Mary Eleanor Morrison Wightman, 86, of 3010 Meyers Road, Oak Brook, Ill., formerly of Delphi died at 12:15 a.m. Feb. 14, 2000 at Good Samaritan Hospital at Downers Grove Ill. Born June 26,1913, in Delphi, she was the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Molly) Michael Morrison. She married David Dean Wightman on April 14, 1933, in Hammond. He died Sept. 25,1976, in Lombard, Ill. Many articles about her youth in Delphi were published in the Delphi Citizen. She was on the committee that helped save the fountain on the courthouse square in Delphi. She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter IR; the Ray Graham Society for People with Disabilities; the Sunshine Society; Entre Nous in Peoria, Ill.; and the first Infant Welfare Society chapter organized in Chicago, Ill. Surviving are one son, David Wightman, of Oak Brook; three daughters, Mary Pratt of Peoria, Priscilla Smith of Oak Brook, and Martha Shuck of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and one granddaughter. Services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Union Church of Hinsdale, 137 S. Garfield, Hinsdale, Ill.
