Joe Coomey - Class Of 1931

 Joseph E. Coomey, 78, Delphi, died at 11:54 p.m May 11, 1991, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.
  Born in Logansport Jan. 19, 1913, he was the son of William and Alice Vianco Coomey.  He was married in Delphi Jan. 26, 1938, to A. Hope Robbins, who survives.
  A 1931 graduate of Delphi High School, Coomey retired from RCA of Monticello in 1976, where he had worked 11 years.  He had also worked for several years at Pletcher Hardware in Delphi and had been a salesman for Sunshine Biscuit Company.  He and his wife managed the Delphi Bowling Alley for three years.
  A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was a former grand knight of the Knights of Columbus 1977.  He was also a member of Carroll County Country Club, and one of four founders of Delphi Little League during the 1950s.
  Surviving with his wife, are one son, William L., West Lafayette; one brother, Arthur, Delphi, six grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.  One daughter preceded him in death.
  Services were Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Fosselman officiating.
  Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
