Frances Amick (Johnson)

Frances A. Johnson, 65, Indianapolis, died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 13, 1979, at St. Vincent Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Born July 10, 1914, at Elnora, her parents were Clyde T. and Lucy Hulse Amick. She married Spurgeon B. Johnson Sept. 18, 1938, at First Presbyterian Church in Delphi. Mrs. Johnson was a member of First Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis and its women’s association and Kappa Alpha Beta Alumnae. She was active in volunteer work for Crossroads Rehabilitation Center and St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Surviving with the husband are one daughter, Jane E. Hales, Houston, Tex., one son, Thomas A. Johnson, Chicago, one sister, Elizabeth H. McCormick, Delphi, and one grandson. Services were Monday with entombment in Crown Hill Mausoleum. Flanner Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to her church at 4701 Central Avenue, Indianapolis.
