Max Holmes, 56, Rt. 5, Monticello, died at 10:30 p.m. last Thursday In St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient for 10 days. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge at Flora and a member of the Flora Eastern Star. For the past nine years he was a salesman for the Moorman Feed Company. Born November 9, 1911, in Carroll County near Flora, he was the son of Harry and Edith Harrison Holmes. His marriage on September 28, 1935, was to Gladys Shaffer who survives. Other survivors include the mother, Mrs. Walter Meyers of Logansport, and one sister, Mrs. Dale Ledman of Lafayette. Funeral services were held Sunday in Monticello and burial was in Riverview Cemetery there.
