Gladys S. Holmes, 83, of Georgetown, Texas, died May 13, 1997, at Georgetown Hospital. She was a former resident of Delphi, Flora, and Monticello. Born March 2, 1914, in Carroll County, she was the daugher of Loyd and Grace Burton Shaffer. Her marriage was on Sept. 28, 1935, to Max Holmes, who died May 16, 1968. She was a 1932 graduate of Delphi High School. Mrs. Holmes was a member of the Monticello Christian Church and a former member of Flora Christian Church. A sister, Roberta Quinn of West Lafayette, survives. A brother and a sister are deceased. Graveside services were Friday in Monticello.
