Ivan Ashba

  Ivan R. Ashba, 79, of Nokomis, Fla., died at 1 a.m. Nov. 28, 2002, in Bon Secour Hospital, Venice, Fla.
  Born April 14, 1923, in Delphi, he was a graduate of Delphi High School.  He was married to Phyllis LaPlante for 37 years, and she survives.
  Mr. Ashba retired from Alcoa as a foreman in 1983.
  He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a Christian, a member of the American Legion, and a veteran of the Army Marine Corps in World War II.
  Among the survivors are five daughters, Kristen Gramelspacher of Lafayette, Kimberly Johnson of Fowler, Caludia Gramelspacher of Denver, Colo., Cindy Barbee of Lafayette, and Cheri Vaughn of Battle Ground; a son, Bert Gramelspacher of West Lafayette; a sister, Helen Stockton of Delphi; eight grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
