Thomas Vianco

Thomas W. "Tom" Vianco, 73, of Rt. 2, Delphi, died at 6 p.m. March 9, 1996, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center.  He had been a patient there for three weeks.
  Born March 1, 1923, in Delphi, he was the son of George W. and Della Pearl Heidrick Vianco.  His marriage was on March 30, 1946, in Lafayette, to Joann Orr, who survives.
  He was the owner and operator of Vianco Excavating and Hauling in the Delphi area for many years.
  He was a 1941 graduate of Delphi High School.
  His memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 75, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9383, all in Delphi.
  He served in the 147th Engineer Combat Battalion of the Army during World War II in the European theater.
  Also surviving are three daughters, Sue Yohe of Lafayette, Sandy Samuels of Simi Valley, Calif., and Sherley Delaney of Indianpolis; two sons, Jerry L. Vianco of Lafayette and Bill T. Vianco of Rt. 2, Delphi; a sister, Dorothy Trobaugh of Lafayette; a brother George Vianco Jr. of Logansport; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
  Services were Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Peter Vanderkolk officiating.  Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery with American Legion rites.  Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
