Alyne Atkinson (Akers)

 Alyne Atkinson Akers, 70, of Dewey, Ariz., formerly of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 1:40 p.m. Jan. 9, 1994, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz.
  Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Clifford and Ethel Hornbeck Atkinson.  Her marriage was on Dec. 30, 1945, in Mill Valley, Calif., to Norman H. Akers, who died Jan. 2, 1990.
  She was a 1941 graduate of Delphi High School.  She lived in Baltimore, Md., for 10 years and lived in Omaha, Neb., for a short time before moving back to Carroll County in July 1985.  She moved from Delphi to Arizona six months ago.
  While in Delphi, she worked part-time for Horn Funeral Home, answering the telephone.
   She was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Carroll County Country Club.  Before moving to Arizona, she had been active in the bridge circles in Delphi.
  Surviving are one daughter, Luanne Akers Bowers of Westminister, Md.; a sister, Joy Lybrook Hammer of Dewey, Ariz.; a brother, Daniel Lybrook of Delphi; and three grandchildren.
  Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Pettys officiating.  Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m.  Burial will be in Yeoman Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the Delphi United Methodist Church.
