Mary Kathryn Grantham (Johnsen)

Mary Kathryn Grantham Johnsen, 77, of Temple, Texas, died there on Oct. 16, 2001. Born Dec. 3, 1923, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Lorene McCain Grantham. She attended Delphi High School and Purdue University where she played French horn. Her marriage was to Howard Henry Johnsen, who preceded her in death. She was raised on the family farm along the banks of the Wabash River near Delphi, and her heart remained there throughout her lifetime. She lived in Chesterton, Carmel, and Indianapolis, and then she and her husband moved south and lived in Shreveport, La., and finally in Temple, Texas. They also lived in Colorado for a short time. Surviving are two sons, Curtis W. Johnsen of Conroe, Texas, and Richard L. Johnsen of Sugarland, Texas; one daughter, Chris Lee Johnsen of Temple; a brother, Richard Grantham of Delphi; and three grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice program.
