Mary Ruth Kirkpatrick (Cullum)

Mary Ruth Kirkpatrick Cullum of Lafayette died Tuesday, October 28, at 11:45 PM at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on March 17, 1923 in Delphi, Indiana to Monroe Martin and Margaret Etta Kirkpatrick.

She graduated from Delphi High School in 1941. After graduation, she moved to Fort Wayne and worked at General Electric. She returned to Delphi, met her soul mate, Donald E. Cullum, and was married on December 20, 1942. He preceded her in death in May of 1997.

Mary retired from Purdue National Bank in 1979 where she worked in the bookkeeping department. After retirement, she and Don bought a house in Winter Haven, FL where they continued to winter as "snowbirds" for many years.

She was a 62-year member of Central Presbyterian Church in Lafayette. She was a 65-year member of Hope Chapter #5 Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid fan of the Cubs, Jeff Bronchos, and Purdue Boilermakers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings- sisters: Merle Odell and Frances Berry, and brothers: Lewis, Oscar, Don, Paul and Jack Kirkpatrick.

She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Sadler Davis of Lafayette and Norma Wilkinson of Crawfordsville. She also has three daughters, Judi Wilcox and Donna (Denny) Cahill of Lafayette and Cheri (Ron) Dilling of Floyds Knobs, IN. She has 9 grandchildren: Shane (Monica) Anthony of Carrollton, GA, Brett (Tracey) Dilling and Bart Dilling of Floyds Knobs, IN, Derrick (Jama) Cahill of New Salisbury, IN, Dannette (Jason) Schreckengast of Lafayette, IN, Nicole (Scott) Kloeblen of Canton, GA, Brooke (Andrew) Liebert of Plano, TX, Damon (Sara) Cahill of Mooresville, NC and Dusten (Lori) Cahill of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are 26 loving great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mary came from a large family and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

The family asks that contributions be made to Central Presbyterian Church or your preferred charity. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be 10:30 AM Monday at Central Presbyterian Church with visitation 1 hour prior to service.
