Robert E. Larimore, 83, of Lafayette, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at his daughter's home in Bartlett, Tenn. Born Oct. 11, 1922, in Delphi, he was the son of the late Charles and Irene Shockey Larimore. He was a 1941 graduate of Delphi High School. He married Isabella Angelosanto on June 23, 1945, and she preceded him in death. Mr. Larimore retired after 33 years as a draftsman with Alcoa's Lafayette Operations Extrusion Division. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Crime Watch and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Larimore was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division, in Africa, Sicily and Italy, where he was wounded on Sept. 11, 1943, and awarded the Purple Heart. He was an avid outdoorsman and member of the Conservation Club in Lafayette and many other wildlife and conservation groups. Surviving are his daughter, Deborah Ann Schafer (husband: John Edgar) of Bartlett; and sisters, Barbara Nelson and Edith Isaacs, both of Delphi, and Joann VanNatta of Battle Ground Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi, Pastor Jeff Martin officiating, and military graveside rites by the Delphi American Legion and VFW. After the service, family and friends are invited to a light lunch at the Stone Barn in Delphi on Washington Street. Surviving are grandsons, Garrett Dunnewold of Memphis and Austin Schafer of Somerset, N.J. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters, Beatrice Isaacs, Ruth Bayer, Evelyn Pritchard, Deloris Eberle, Betty Maxwell and infant Marybelle Larimore; 2 brothers, Donald and Edgar Larimore.
