Robert C. Sales

 Robert C. Sales, 85, formerly of Delphi, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.  He had been a patient there since April 10.  He and his wife had been living at the Mulberry Health and Retirement Community since February.
  Born Sept. 25, 1923, in Delphi, he was the son of the late Charles and Lucille Heck Sales.  His marriage was on May 25, 1946, in Delphi, to L. Louise Weston, who survives.
  Mr. Sales was a 1941 graduate of Delphi High School.  He received his real estate license from classes he attended at Purdue University.
  He worked as an assistant plant manager at the former Gerber Globe Valve Corporation in Delphi for 48 years, retiring in 1988.
  After his retirement, Mr. Sales sold real estate for the former Elsie Myers Real Estate in Delphi for many years.
  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delphi.
  Mr. Sales was a former member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Delphi, Frankfort Moose Lodge, and Delphi Art Club.
  He was an avid golfer and member of the Carroll County Country Club where he was former president of the board of directors.
  Mr. Sales was an accomplished artist and enjoyed oil and watercolor painting.  He loved woodworking and restoring vintage automobiles.
  He and his wife wintered in St. Petersburg, Fla., for Many years.
  Also surviving are a daughter; Debbie Harper (husband; Dave, DVM), and a son, Robert C. "Bob" Sales, both of Lafayette; a sister Marjorie Foreman of Delphi; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
  Services will be today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi.  The Rev. Bill McLean will officiate.  Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.
  Memorials may be made to the Delphi Art Club or the Carroll County Historical Society.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
