John R. Dubes

John R. Dubes, 68, of Rt. 2, Delphi, died at 10:58 a.m. Aug. 21, 1992, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
  Born May 29, 1924, in Pyrmont, he was the son of William Curtis and Lydia May Newell Dubes.  His marriage was on Aug. 21, 1947, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Grace Bradford, who survives.
  He was a 1942 graduate of Delphi High School and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
  He was employed at Alcoa in Lafayette for 42 years, retiring in 1982.  He and his wife collected and traded antiques and exhibited at area flea markets.
  He was a member of Delphi American Legion Post 75 and the Wabash & Erie Canal Association.
  Also surviving are three daughters, Debbie Dubes of Delphi, Marsha Hickman of Williamsport, and Linda Isley of Rt. 1, Battle Ground; three sons, William C. Dubes and Jerry L. Dubes, both of Delphi, and Michael W. Dubes of Camden; a sister, Helen Cree, and a brother, Glen C. Dubes, both of Delphi; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
  Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Oliver officiating.  Burial was in Pittsburg Cemetery.
