Joann Hyman (Johnson)

Jo Ann Hyman Johnson, 72, of Delphi, formerly of Camden, died at 8:45 a.m. Aug. 29, 1996, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a patient since Aug. 23.
  Born June 10, 1924, in Young America, she was the daughter of Earl O. and Hazel Cline Hyman.  Her marriage was on Aug. 17, 1946, in Rossville, Ga., to Edward E. "Bub" Johnson, who died Feb. 16, 1993.
  She and her husband owned E.E. Johnson Mechanical Contractors in Camden for many years.  They also operated the pro shop at the Carroll County Country Club in Delphi from 1982-1986.
  She was a 1942 graduate of Delphi High School.
  Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Camden, a member and past president of the Associate Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority, and a member of Carroll Chapter 475, Order of Eastern Star.
  She was a member of the Carroll County Country Club, served on the country club board of directors, and was active in the Ladies Golf League.  She also was on the board of directors of the Camden Telephone Company and was active in Bridge-A-Rama in Delphi.
  Surviving are one brother, Robert "Bob" Hyman of Delphi, a sister, Betty Jo Hallam of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; her mother, Hazel Hyman Rohrabaugh of Delphi; a nephew, C. J. Hyman, who formerly lived in the Johnson home; and Shirley Goyer of Delphi, who was raised in the Johnson home.  She was preceded in death by one brother and one infant sister.
  Services were Saturday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Recher officiating.  Burial was in Camden Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
