Anna Elizabeth Schmitter (Wetli)

Anna E. (Ann) Wetli, 90, longtime resident of Earl Park, passed away at 6:30 am, Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Mulberry Health and Retirement Community in Mulberry, In. 

She was born Anna Elizabeth Schmitter on December 22, 1923 in Delphi, In to the late Frank Schmitter and Marie McGreevey. She graduated from Delphi High School in 1942. 

She was the devoted wife of Joseph C. Wetli and mother to ten children. She is survived by brothers, Tobias, Lawrence and Hubert Schmitter; sister, Mary Busald; children, Leo, Arline (Meehan), Charlie, Fred, Herb, Julie (Aschenberg), Jerry, Dian (Cline) and Greg Wetli; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, daughter Nancy, brother Francis, Paul and Robert Schmitter, and sister Marie Randall. 

She was an active member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Rosary Society. She retired as a custodian of Benton Central Jr./Sr. High School in Oxford, In and worked several years part time at the Caldwell Home in Earl Park, In post-retirement.

In addition to being a devoted Roman Catholic and family-oriented woman who loved little children, she was an avid gardener who loved to spend time outdoors. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 am, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Earl Park, In, with interment at the St. John Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will follow in the St. John Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, Anna's wishes would be that you make a donation in her name to serve those in need through an organization like Catholic Charities or a charity of you choice. Windler Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
