Elizabeth Jane Smock (Wickman)

Elizabeth Jane Wickman, nee Smock. Passed away peacefully, March 18, 2015 in Des Moines, Iowa. Born of William C. and Martha S. Smock, December 18, 1925 in Logansport, Indiana. Graduated from Delphi, Indiana high school in 1942 and from De Pauw University, Zoology Major, Delta Zeta, in 1946. Married in 1946 for 48 years to Boyd William Wickman who proceeded her in death in 1994. They resided in Rowan, Iowa until 1960 and then West Des Moines, Iowa. Survived by three children, William S. (Janet) Wickman of Mckinleyville, California, Jeanne E. DeVries of Laramie, Wyoming and Mary Kay Wickman of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Elizabeth Woolf of Clarion, Iowa.

Much loved by her family, she enjoyed talk of sports and politics. She was very active in United Methodist Women, Tri-T, Questors, PEO and volunteer work. She enjoyed extensive travel, golf, and bridge. She received the Governors Volunteer Award in 1984.

Services will be held at West Des Moines United Methodist Church, 11AM, Saturday March 21st.
