Mary Lee Shaeffer, 56, of Lafayette, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 1981, in the home of her daughter, Carla Brubaker, Rt. 4, Delphi.
  Born in Carroll County, she was the daughter of James Dewey and Cletus Montgomery Zinn.  In 1945 she was married to Carl Shaeffer, who died in October 1974.
  Residing most of her life in Carroll County, she was a 1942 graduate of Delphi High School and attended Indiana University.  She most recently was a hostess at Ramada Inn East, Lafayette, and a cosmetic consultant.
  Surviving with her daughter are her mother who resides at the Brethren Home in Flora; three sons, Greg Shaeffer of Minneapolis, Minn., Gary Shaeffer of Los Angeles, Calif., and Brad Shaeffer of Rt. 4, Delphi; and three grandchildren.
  Friends may call at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Jackson Funeral Home, Delphi, where memorial services will be held that evening at 8.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Tippecanoe Cancer Society.
