Agnes Gertrude McGuire, 87, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away May 17, 2015. She was the daughter of Orville and Pauline Fife, born Aug. 16, 1927, in Delphi, Ind. Agnes worked as an RN at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. After several proposals, she married her best friend and love of her life, John, on Sept. 11, 1948. She embraced life and all of the individuals in it. Agnes was known as the “neighborhood nurse,” master gardener, encourager, comforter, educator, nature enthusiast and “Jill of all trades” to family, friends and anyone in need. She was a wonderful and spirited person who dedicated her life to her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes was a member of Madison Park Church of God, Anderson, Ind., and McGregor Baptist Church, Fort Myers, Fla. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Cindy Hollon, Marcia Moss and son-in-law, Dr. John Moss of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sister, Mary Kathleen Miller; grandchildren, Laura (Chris) Tranbarger, Scott (Laura) Garrett, Leslie (Christian) Lopez, TJ Martin, Lyndsay Koch and Leia Hollon; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Noah Tranbarger, Zadie and Darien Lopez, Gavin and Julia Garrett, Cameron, Keagan and Kaiya Koch. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Dale McGuire; son, Stephen Michael McGuire; brothers, Paul and Charles Fife; and Sister Athanasia. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, Ind.
