Graveside services for Captain Charles Heiland, Sr. will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 22, at National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace

Charles Edward Heiland, 92, of Longwood, Fla., formerly of Delphi, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Ed was born and raised in Delphi, graduating from Delphi High School. He served 42 years in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of captain.

In 1952 he married Marjorie Lee Smith of Lexington, Ky.; she preceded him in death in 1992.

Among the survivors are two sons, Charles Edward Heiland, Jr., and Jeffrey Lee Heiland.

Interment was at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Tennessee.
