Arthur Bradshaw

Arthur Connelly Bradshaw, 84, passed away Thursday September 19, 2013 after a brief illness. He has joined his beloved wife, Charlene, at a jazz club in heaven.

 
He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on February 24, 1929 to Robert and Mary Bradshaw of Delphi, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Charlene Stoker of Brookston, Indiana on October 28, 1950 and they had many wonderful years together until she passed away in May of 2011.
 
He is survived by his two brothers, John Bradshaw and wife Joan of San Antonio, Texas and Robert Bradshaw and wife Cathy of La Porte, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his three children, David Bradshaw and wife Laurie of Grand Junction, Colorado, Leslie McManus and husband Richard of Montgomery, Texas, and Douglas Bradshaw and wife Trish of Santee, California as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 
He chose a career in Advertising Sales and first worked for WASK radio in Lafayette, Indiana. In 1965 the family moved to Houston where he worked for KNUZ radio, KHOU-TV, the Houston Astros, and KXLN-TV.
 
He and Charlene retired to Walden on Lake Conroe and enjoyed almost twenty years with their wonderful friends and neighbors. He was very active in the Montgomery United Methodist Church and their Food Pantry, the Walden Shortknockers golf group, and playing his drums in a couple of bands whenever a 'gig' presented itself.
 
A Memorial Service is planned for Tuesday September 24, 2013 at 2 PM at the Montgomery United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Texas. In lieu of flowers a contribution to the Montgomery United Methodist Church, their Food Pantry, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
