Dorothy M. Draper, 92, who was an angel on Earth, is now an angel in heaven. She passed away on May 3, 2022, at Mulberry Health & Retirement.

She was born in Carroll County to William and Cora (Ghere) Lybrook on Nov. 14, 1929. She was a 1947 graduate of Delphi High School. On Aug. 7, 1948, in Delphi, she married Don Eugene Draper; he preceded her in death on April 7, 2013.

Dorothy was retired as manager of the Delphi Laundromat. She was a member of the Carroll County Election Board for 22 years.

Dorothy enjoyed watching birds, embroidery, and reading about current events. She also enjoyed chocolate and diet soda.

Surviving are her daughters, Larine Jeanine Scowden (Larry) and Lisa Gail Draper Shay (Les), both of Delphi; brother, Charles Lybrook (Rosemary) of Lafayette; sister, Linda Whitman of Arizona; granddaughter, Bethany Nichole Pearson Ice; and great-grandson, Kenneth Zane Lovvorn.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rose Kirby, Hazel Lybrook, Becky Brooks; brothers, Harvey and Billy Lybrook; and two nephews, Bill and Joe Kirby.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.

Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Unit at Mulberry Health, Mulberry, Ind.
