Mary E. Lauderdale, 81, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at her residence.
She was born April 30, 1929, in Tippecanoe County, to the late David S. and Mary Merrill Rhine, and was a 1947 graduate of Delphi High School.
Her marriage was to Otis S. Lauderdale on Nov. 9, 1950, in Delphi, and he survives.
Mrs. Lauderdale had been a meat packer for Tippecanoe Foods in West Lafayette.
She attended Evergreen Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and collecting different rocks from across the United States.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Deborah L. Wertz (husband: Michael) of West Lafayette, Karen Lauderdale of Delphi and Jennifer Nelson (husband: Blake) of California; three sisters, Imogene Reed of Colorado Springs, Colo., Betty Smith (husband: Ray) of Sheridan, Wyo., and Ruth Davis of Indianapolis; and one brother, Don Rhine of Delphi.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Heather Leasor, Courtney MacIntyre, Jesse and Grant O'Leary; 4 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rhine of Delphi and Ruby Rhine of Lafayette. Preceded in death by her son, Eric Lauderdale in 1993; brothers, John, Roscoe, Paul and Maurice; and sisters, Maxine Ward and Virginia Morgan
