Wayne Swatts

  Harold Wayne Swatts, 77, of Grant Road, Delphi, died at 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2005, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville.
  Born in White County on June 2, 1928, he was the son of John E. and Huldah Kiste Swatts.  He was a 1947 graduate of Delphi High School.
  He lived on the Swatts farm, which had been in the family for over 100 years.
  Mr. Swatts began working at Brown Rubber in 1948 as a foreman until the company closed. He was employed with H.K. Porter as an outside consultant in tool and die.  He later farmed his family property in Tippecanoe County until he retired.
  He served with the Indiana National Guard for over 16 years.
  Mr. Swatts was a member of the American Legion in Delphi; a lifetime member of the Eagles in Lafayette; the National Rifle Association; and was currently serving as president of the Pretty Prairie Cemetery Association.
  He enjoyed metal fabrication, hunting and fishing.
  Surviving is a sister, Louise Whiteman of Delphi; a special friend, Edna Thompson of Lafayette, and several cousins.
  He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene; and by a niece, Jean Whiteman.
  Services were Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, with burial at Pretty Prairie Cemetery in Battle Ground.
  Memorials may be made to Pretty Prairie Cemetery Association or the donor's favorite charity.
