Meredith Ward (Doolan)

 Meredith Y. "Mert" Ward Doolan, 75, of 8281 W 800 N., Delphi, died at 11:10 a.m. on Feb. 28, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.  She had been in failing health for the past couple of months.
  Born in White County on July 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Charles and Pearl Humphrey Ward.  She was a 1947 graduate of Delphi High School, and attended Frankfort Bible College.
  He marriage was to James Doolan in Delphi, on Aug. 15, 1974, and he died on Nov. 26, 1975.
  Mrs. Doolan worked in the retail industry for several years, before retiring to take care of her father.
  She moved to Houston, Texas, in her early 30s, and lived there for over 40 years, before moving back to Delphi in 2003.
  Mrs. Doolan attended her Ward family reunion for 42 years consecutively, in various states and countries.  She enjoyed cooking, dancing, playing cards, dominoes, and bingo with her family and friends.
  Surviving are three brothers, Silas G. Ward and Raymond D. Ward, both of Delphi, and Kenneth Ward (wife: Pat) of Seattle, Wash.; a nephew whom she raised, James Ward (wife: Debra) of Houston, Texas; an aunt, Margie Goodwin; nieces and nephews, Dave, Trudy, Steve, Stanley, Kevin, Brian, Diana, Scott, Douglas, Darren, Harold and Jeff.
  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, James, and Joseph.
  Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home.  Services will be there on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Kelly Furlong officiating.  Burial will be at New Richmond Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to Carroll County Cancer Association.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
