Jack Robert Carney - Class Of 1950

John "Jack" Robert Carney, 82, of Lehigh Acres, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Lehigh Acres Health and Rehab Center in Lehigh Acres.

He was born on September 20, 1932 in Lafayette to the late Paul Carney and Anne (Zehmann) Carney.
His marriage was to Donna Doud Harrison. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2013.

Mr. Carney was a sales representative for mens clothing in Lafayette, after retirement he moved to Lehigh Acres, FL.

He is survived by stepdaughter, Sylvia S. Pike of Lehigh Acres, FL; stepson, Gary W. Harrison of Monticello; sister, Sharon (Ronald) Heyse of Overland Park, KS; three step grandsons and one step granddaughter; and 2 step great granddaughters.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10:00am at Riverview I.O.O. F. Cemetery in rural Monticello.

Marilyn E. McCormick (1950)

Another walk down memory lane...among the memories are playing Horse with Jack and Bob Roach at Bob's house (I like to pretend that I won most of the time, but that's pretend)...the many times Jack and John Bradshaw saved me from failing Mr. Drake's Chemistry class...the whispered communication during Study Hall...the dances in the school gym after basketball games... going over stamp collections at John Bradshaw's house....etc., etc..  Jack always seemed to be searching for himself (as most of us were).   I'm glad to be counted as his classmate.
