Kathleen Brown (Brummett) - Class Of 1950

Esther Kathleen Brown Brummett, 82, of rural Delphi, died Fri., Feb. 14, 2014 at 6:30pm, unexpectedly at her residence. She was born Sept. 9, 1932 in Lafayette to the late Olaf K. "OK" & Agnes Roskuski Brown. Her marriage was to Leonard P. "Tex" Brummett in Flora, on Mar. 23, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Apr. 11, 1996. She was a 1950 graduate of Delphi High School. She worked for 12 years at the Senior & Family Service Office in Delphi, and retired from there in December of 2013. She also worked for 10 years for the Carroll County Comet at their Delphi office, and worked during tax time in the Treasurer's office at the Courthouse, and helped her husband on their family farm. She currently was attending the First Baptist Church in Delphi, and had formerly attended the Flora First Brethren Church for many years, where she was a deaconess, and sang in the church choir. She helped on the election board for the democrat party, for many years in Deer Creek Township. She enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, and knitting, was a wonderful cook & baker, and loved to play euchre card games, and was in a euchre card club for many years. She dearly loved her 3 boys and their families, and adored her grand and great-grandchildren, and all of the family time they spent together. She loved her Lord Jesus her whole life, and lived according to His teaching and will. Surviving: sons: Stephen & Terri Brummett of Flora, Phillip & Liz Brummett of Auburn, Bradford & Cherie Brummett of Lafayette; sister-Frances Pullen of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sisters. Services: Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Funeral service there Tuesday 11am, Pastor Bill Glenn officiating.
