Joan Hamling McClurg, age 73, died Saturday morning, March 4, 2006, at Cherish Health and Living Center.

She was born October 28, 1932, in Delphi, Ind., to John Henry and Helen Agnes Malia Hamlingand lived in this area since 1965.

Joan was a graduate of Ball State University and taught school for several years before moving to Richmond. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and a member of the Bible Study Fellowship.

Survivors include her husband, Donald B. McClurg, whom she married July 10, 1954, in West Lafayette, Ind.;one daughter, Diane McClurg Sanders and her husband, Joe of Kennewick Wash.; two grandchildren, Malia and Taylor Sanders; one sister, Judith Cross and her husband, Jack, of Bluffton, Ind.; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

A graveside service for Joan Hamling McClurg will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation. Doan & Mills Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
