June Phillips (Davis) - Class Of 1950

June Darlene Davis, age 89 of rural Delphi passed away on Jan. 21, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Healthcare in Lafayette. She is the daughter of the late Clyde and Stella (Richardson) Phillips of Pittsburg, IN. June attended the Pittsburg school and  graduating in 1950 from Delphi High School.

She married James R. Davis of Delphi in 1951. They would have been married 69 years this past October. They had been together since they were 16.

June worked a supervisor in the medical dept. at Lafayette Life Insurance for 25 years. June was a realtor and worked for her and her husband’s Davis Real Estate Company. They owned J Construction Company and were the owners of many rental properties.

She and her husband spent their summers at their home on Lake Freeman and their winters at their home in Moore Haven, FL. Jim and June had traveled all over the United States and all through Europe. They took cruises to the Bahamas and Jamaica.

They enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques. They donated the historical Case Home at Canal Park in Delphi, Indiana.

June never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face.    

She is survived by her sister, Janet Donelson and brother-in-law, Bob Donelson of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Davis.

Viewing will be from noon until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi. Pastor Bob Duke will officiate.

A private burial will follow in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
