Janet Marlene Stoner Conant passed away Monday, June 14, 2004, at her home in Fuquay-Varina.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Ernest Stoner and Alice Marguerite Burke Stoner and one grandchild Matthew Jason Spires.

Surviving children and their families, daughter Sylvia and husband Ronald Pickett of Durham and their children Melissa, Kerri and Jacqueline and their grandchildren Gabrielle and Madison; daughter Kathy and husband Robby Hilliard of Greensboro and their children William and Melanie; daughter Bunny Conant of Apex and her children Christopher and Lindsey Spires; daughter Carol Ekiss of Decatur, Il, and her children Michael, Trent, Sean and Joey; son Norman and his wife Beth Conant of Converse Texas and their children Austin, Houston and Lauren.

Also surviving are two sisters Joan Boyer of Scottsdale AZ and Joyce and her husband Roger Adams of Mesa AZ, and two brothers Bill and wife Phyllis Stoner of Jacksonville, IL, and Gene and wife Carolyn Stoner of Monticello, IL. Janet served in the U.S. Air Force. She retired in 1998 from AT&T and spent her retirement years as a volunteer Emergency Services Coordinator with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

In lieu of flowers, Janet has requested that all assist in making the world a better place by: 1) Donating your services or blood to the American Red Cross; 2) Donating to St. Jude's Children's Foundation; 3)Volunteering or donating to your local women's shelter; 4)Visiting a housebound neighbor, call an old friend; 5) Calling everyone by name; 6) Sending flowers to a nursing home.

Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of her life at 804 Hepplewhite Ct., Fuquay-Varina on Thursday, June 17th from 5 to 9 pm.
