Theodore (Pete) Tharp - Class Of 1950

Vern T.T. "Pete" Tharp, 74, of Logansport, died at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 13, 2004, at his residence.
  Born May 13, 1930, in Clinton County, he was the son of Isaac and Emily Jane Tyler Tharp.  He was married on June 27, 1954, to Nancy Kuhn, who survives.
  Mr. Tharp was retired from the Quality Assurance department at Elco/Textron Industries.
  A 1950 graduate of Delphi High School, he was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.  He served as a radio operator aboard the destroyer-escort USS Horace A. Bass.
  Mr. Tharp was a life member of the American Legion Post 60 and a former member of Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church.
  A Chicago Cubs fan, he was also a former member of the Bridge City Square Dancers.
  Surviving with his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sherry Tharp of Logansport; a daughter, Tami Lane of Logansport; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Evelyn Tharp of Monticello; two sisters, Barb Weidner of Wabash and Frances Anthony of Wabash; three grandchildren, twins Amber and Ashley Tharp and Kayla Lane; and a number of nieces and nephews.  Two brother, Albert Tharp and Merle Tharp, and a sister, Flossie Tharp, preceded him in death.
  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kroeger Funeral Home, 711 E. Market St., Logansport, with the Rev. Scott Ellison officiating.  Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.  Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
  Memorials may be made to the Guardian Angel Hospice or Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church.
