Don Allbaugh

Donald K. "Don" Allbaugh, 80, of Delphi, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thurs.-Dec. 4, 2014 at 10:17pm, at IU Health Arnett Hospital-Laf. He was born July 15, 1934 in Carroll County, IN, to the late Ottis & Mary Wise Allbaugh. His marriage was to Martha L. Humberd at her parents home on Bringhurst Road, on Sept. 18, 1954, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year, and she survives. He was a 1952 graduate of Delphi High School, and worked for 28 1/2 years at Ross Gear TRW-Lafayette, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Bringhurst United Methodist Church, where he was a lay speaker and read scripture during church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a master craftsman wood worker. He coached girls softball, and was president of their league. He was active and president of the Carroll County Religious Education Association. Don was a man of integrity. His word was his bond, and a simple handshake meant more than words. He demanded respect, and received it from those closest to him. He dearly loved his wife & children, grand and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their sporting and school events. That was his life. Don loved his good Lord, and faithfully served him, until being called home. Our loss is his gain, as he enjoys the presence of Jesus and eternal life in heaven. Surviving: wife-Martha L. Allbaugh of Delphi; daughter-Mary & Ray Simpson of Bringhurst; sons-Rex & Robin Allbaugh, & Ron & Janet Allbaugh, both of Delphi; sister-Carolyn Royer of Goshen; 7 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by 2 brothers-Dean & Jerry, a sister-Phillis. Services: Friends may call Sunday from 1pm until his funeral at 3:30pm at Bringhurst United Methodist Church, Pastor's Joe Boggs & Larry DeVos officiating. Burial at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bringhurst United Methodist Church or Carroll County Religious Education, envelopes available at the church.
