Dorothy Disinger (Rhine)

Dorothy J. Disinger Rhine, 90, formerly of Delphi, passed away Thursday-Oct. 3, 2024, at 1:06pm, at her daughter Diane’s home near Flora. She had been living with her due to declining health and had resided in Flora for the past 5 years. Dorothy was born March 13, 1934, in Delphi, to the late John & Edith Walters Disinger. Her marriage was to Roscoe M. “Rocky” Rhine in Delphi, on June 30, 1961, and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2007. Dorothy graduated from Delphi High School in 1953. She first worked as an aide at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She then worked at Globe Valve in Delphi for several years, then worked in the office at Country Park Estates in Kokomo. Then she and her husband founded Rhineland Mobile Home Park in Delphi, which they operated for many years before retiring. While living in Delphi she attended the Delphi Wesleyan Church. And when she moved to Flora, she attended the Grace Brethren Church. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, sewing, and long shopping trips to Wal-Mart. She and her sister Charlotte enjoyed hanging out and socializing at McDonald’s in Delphi. Dorothy enjoyed country music and long drives in the country. Her greatest love was for her family. She loved family get togethers, good and humorous conversation around the dinning room table. She dearly loved them all.

Surviving: daughter-Diane & Brad Johnson of Flora, son-William “Bill” & Tammy Isley of Kokomo, daughter-Patricia Fenex of Holbrook, AZ, son-David Rhine his wife Merle Smith of Newark, Delaware, sister-Virginia McKnight of Flora, sister-Sue & Carl “Butch” Witt of Flora, sister-in-law Ina Disinger of Lafayette. 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a son Richard, inf daughter Peggy, 2 brother’s William & Wayne, a sister Charlotte. Services: Visitation will be Tuesday from 11am until her funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, Pastor Andy Gannon officiating. Burial at IOOF Cemetery, Delphi.
