Dorothy "Joan" Echler, 60, of Shelbyville, died in her home on Nov. 22, 1995 at 9:14 p.m.
  Born in Delphi, Aug. 6, 1935, she was the daughter of Earl and Faye Hildebrandt.  She graduated from Delphi High School in 1953.
  On Jan. 6, 1954, she married Arthur Dean Echler.  He died in 1976.
  She was a homemaker and worked as a cashier at Amoco for the past five years.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shelbyville.
  Surviving are her friend, Robert F. Woods of Arlington; four daughters, Margie Markley, Marily Wickliff, Kaye Roberts, and Sue Markley, all of Shelbyville; three sisters, Mary Jean Odano of Canoga Park, Calif., Ruth Rhine and Mildred Daniels Doerr, both of Delphi; three brothers, Frank Hildebrand of Lafayette, Charles Hildebrandt of Delphi, and her twin brother, Joe Hildebrandt, also of Delphi; a foster brother, Chuck Martin of Sulligent, Ala.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
  Services were Sunday at Murphy Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor George Mitchell officiating.  Interment was at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
